My sister recently has been going through an awful time with her boy, who keeps stringing her along. What do we do when men hurt the ones we love?
....we knit them things, of course.

Parisian Head Wrap! (because I think it looks quite French)
You will need:
Half a skein of soft yarn that isn't fuzzy (I used Carons simply soft in heather grey)
US8 straight needles
Assorted buttons
CO 13 sts.
K across
K1, *yo, K2tog* repeat across
Knit three rows.
K1, triple throw into each stitch, until end of row.
(prepare needles as if to knit, then wrap working yarn around the right needle twice, then knit as if normal)
For the next row, knit the first stitch, then slip the two wrapped strands off the left needle and let them drop before you knit the next stitch.
Knit two rows, not counting the first one after the row you made in triple throw.
Here's a close-up of what it will look like. It's a bit like a twisted drop stitch, except it lies flat and is much less...twisted.
Repeat these rows as a pattern until it wraps perfectly around your head. This isn't a headband meant to stretch over and over again, it's more decorative. Keep that in mind to determine your length. Bind off when you feel it will wrap around your head with ease, but not too loosely.
You can either sew on two smaller buttons, one at either end of the bound-off row, so that it uses the lace eyelets as button holes. Or, like I did, sew one large button on smack in the middle of the row, and use the free space between the triple throws as a button hole.
It takes an hour.
It looks lovely.
And it way better than an idiot boy :)

Love the pattern! I'm making one out of left over ribbon yarn that has been in my stash for more than 3 years!!! I found your blog looking for ideas for scrap yarn.

Thanks so much for the pattern!
